This is my final project for my Maya class, a 3-D rendered version of Autobot Bumblebee! In the movie, Bumblebee was a 2009 Chevy Camero, but I was only able to get my hands on the blueprints for the 2008 version. Close enough, tho. If you look, he has the Autobot crest on both the front and back where the Chevrolet logo should be, and has his name on his license plate. :)

The teacher liked it well enough, but it's FAR from a perfect model. I had to fudge some details due to the time crunch and polycount limits, such as with the lower headlights and the grill. There are also some problems with the model, but they are mostly little details. Overall I think it's not too bad.

*Bows down to your 1337 maya skills*
I took a course in maya. I could barely make a ball bounce through a hoop. To me it looked like a decapitated nerd that bounced through a flaming hoop and then caught fire. Pretty epic, but still...

simplistic 3D version but then with the movie... it makes it kinda hard to compare to that ^^ nicely done still!

Great job, it's nice to see the movie getting some love instead of the hate that it gets for not being a carbon copy of the original series.

It's tough to put in the kind of detail you want when the school's computers can't effectively render it or you're unable to take over a lab to create your own render farm, and that reflection probably took up a good chunk of your render time. Overall you did a great job on the model, it looks very nice.

This was done on Maya? My daddy worked for Maya! That was before it got bought by another company, so now he works for Autodesk (company that bought them out).
