Sorry this took so long to get out; I've been working on it between classes for two weeks or so. I hope it shows. A lot of research and design went into it.

The latter half of the comic I'm not exactly thrilled with but the portraits came out nicely. I drew them to resemble as closely as possible the royal portraits shown in the Fire Lord's palace. Special thanks to alexds1 for her awesome color lineart tutorial. [link] Each portrait has special symbolisms. Even if your not interested, I'll tell you them anyway:

~Azulon's portrait is almost identical with that of his royal portrait shown in "The Avatar and the Firelord". The only difference is that he is depeicted as an old man, how I believe Ozai views his father. Since...you know. Azulon had Ozai when he was...over the hill, so to speak.
~ Ursa is in her wedding gown, as I imagine Ozai would best remember her. Or rather, her grandmother's wedding gown, which I could see being passed down through the generations.
~Iroh has the lotus symbol behind him, and is dressed in his general's armor, since Ozai probably knew him better as the Dragon of the West than as a brother.
~Azula has blue fire. DUH. And is haloed by an eclipse to symbolize the Day of Black Sun, where I think she was her most outstanding as a villain.
~Aang has Air Nomad stuff and clouds. But because he has ties to the Fire Nation he can't deny and is a firebender himself (even if i was his most difficult element) I have some fire thrown in too. LOL
~I had a long debate with my roomie over whether Zuko should be in his traveler clothes or his Firelord garb. My roomie made the excellent point of Ozai being the sort of person who would never accept Zuko as Fire Lord, and would always see him as someone who betrayed him. So he was dressed in the clothes he had his big showdown with Ozai in. If you don't get the red and blue dragon symbolism, you have'nt been watching the show.

Soon as I get my laptop back, I'll be making some small changes, like to font, Ozai's fugly ass hand (look, I try okay?), and other stuff.
