I finally saw Airbender, which hit theaters a few days ago! Some reviews have been negative, other reviews have been also negative. SO YEAH. :/

"But Booter, what do YOU think?"

I viewed this movie with the same malicious glee I usually reserve for MST3King bad pr0n fics. The delicious, creamy lulz that can be extracted from this movie are endless. Expect LOTS and LOTS of parody art in the future!

There were lots of problems with this movie, like EVERYTHING (with exception to the effects, shut up I liked some of the water scenes). I went in figuring it would just suck hard in a few areas, but instead was surprised to find a nice even coating of suck all around. The most *obnoxious* thing in the movie was the sheer amount of exposition, somehow mindbendingly topping even the casting in sheer offensiveness. Editing, dialog, acting, scene composition, LOGIC it's like all the most basic aspects of storytelling were COMPLETELY FORGOTTEN. I also felt a constant fear for Aang's virginity throughout. Uncomfortable!

It wasn't all bad. The bending effects were pretty good...when bending and not interpretive dance occurred. I liked the costumes, and some of the sets were nice to look at. Aang bouncing on his head while fighting Zuko tied up was cool too. But these nuggets of good were just not enough to cover for the bad.

"Admiral Zhao, do you think my son is a traitor?"

".....YES.

Something may be wrong with Mel Gibson, but at least he understands story structure.

Does anybody know how Bryke feel about the movie?

I am glad, at least, that someone else was on the same level as me in terms of Aang and older men seeming to want to put his virginity into jeopardy.
I walked out of the theater with my friends and I mentioned "it seemed like every scene with Aang and another male was full of innuendo and 'that's what she saids'." They didn't believe me. Finally, someone who understands.
"Let me perform this test on you. It'll only take a few minutes, and afterwards you can go." D:

My favorite part was the Green Hornet trailer at the start.

My second favorite part was the cooperative bending aka the Tai Chi.

the "YESSSSSSSSSSS" still makes me laugh. I don't think Aasif was supposed to be channeling the Daily Show.

This viewer cringed each time they pronounced Aang, Sokka and Iroh. It physically hurt. It wasn't like M.Night had to interperate the names from a book series. The names were pronounced in the show. Soh-ka, Ahh-ng and Eeee-row. I kind of want to demand a public apology from a M. Night just because of that. Suki missing urked me too, even more so in finding out that she is listed in the cast. Meaning she only ranked a background 2 second appearance, if that, in the Kyoshi Island. I loved the element effects but hated how long it took to attack. Each time someone did their little dance (or the stomping dance that the earthbenders did to lift one soccer ball sized rock), I had to bite back Dragonball Z refs. The dead silence had me wanted to scream "Line!!!!". And Sokka didn't get enough sokka-ish lines. They even took away the Hawt-ness of Ozai.

But more importantly, Zhao is missing his beard of awesomeness. *sobs*

However, I did enjoy it. That sick little part of me sqwealed in delight each time I recoginzed someone. And the popcorn was good.
