Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me. :la:
Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang. :D
The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Hey! I got my computer back! Yaaaay! And it's screen is still has problems staying lit! Boooooo! That goddamn LCD adapter keeps jiggling loose every time I get it back and ARRRRRRGH. LOL, and my tablet's been broken for months on top of all this LOLcrysob. Yet still I truck on! I'll be going through and making small edits to deviations soon, like changing shitty fonts and undrawing sleeves where they don't belong, haha.

School will be starting for me shortly. Which means art may be slowing down some, depending on how crazy the workload is and how bad I want to procrastinate.

Does the pressure sensing no longer seem to work? I thought mine was kaput once, but it turned out I just needed to install a new driver and replace the pen nib XD
(Wacom actually makes different pen nibs - one designed for painting and one for sketching/writing as well as the original one! I like the painting one a lot :3)
